Underground River - "Live at KFJC" - Vinyl LP Preorder
Underground River is the solo project of Johnson City, NY based artist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, Hunter Davidsohn.
On the heels of 2022’s LP “Life Cycle, Delicate Song” Hunter travelled to the Northern California coast for a string of performances with fellow Nudie artist Dead Luke. The first of the scheduled performances was an on air live mic at KFJC in Los Altos, CA
Here’s what Luke has to say about the performance
“Two mics, one acoustic guitar and one otherworldly voice.
Hunter’s finger picked styling and melodic intuitions lay somewhere in a Venne diagram of the early American primitivism of John Fahey, the cowboy psychedelia musings of Lee Hazlewood, and the heavy baroque stylings of the Pretty Things, and Hunter was laying it on with the dosage set to “lethal”
I heard new renditions of my favorite Underground River tunes as well as foreshadowing of swamp psych monoliths pointing toward the future of the project as Hunter continues his ascent towards the heavens
The reverberations from this experience I still feel today”
